Over the past few weeks I’ve had many questions from friends alike asking me the meaning for my choice of name for my blog. Well, let me say it took a deep thought and the word derived from:
“Bl” – For Blog (This is a Blog)
“oogle” – From Google which is not only the search engine of the moment, but basically now controls the internet (yes it does )
So combining the two comes up with “Bloogle” which means searching Blogs using Google.
Thats it No more questions on this subject.
While thinking about making money on the internet, it’s also important to note how to avoid losing it too. While there are many legitimate ways to make money at home, there are far too plenty ways one can get scammed on the internet. Recruiting people to stuff envelopes, or send mass mails is the oldest work-from-home gimmick that fools people every day. Real work from home opportunities are abundant. But, the Internet has become a breeding ground for get-rich-quick schemes
Am sure you have seen adverts which look like this one of these days. R2,000-R50,000+pm.Part/Full Time
Full training & ongoing support
Smart Woman Work @ Home
Around the kids using your PC
earn R 5 000+ part-time/full-time
Work From Home
Earn an Extra R500-R5000pm p/t
Alot more fulltime!
Whiles most of these look too good to be true , complaints filed against companies offering work-at-home scams has more than doubled in the last few years. As more job seekers get online, these scams thrive. Generally, outside of the Internet, advertisements for work-at-home opportunities are also found in the classified sections of local newspapers, magazines and other publications.
While not all offers are phony, many are.I can’t say that there are absolutely NO legitimate “envelope stuffing” jobs or work from home jobs , but I have NEVER seen one in all my life.
Many legitimate direct sales companies and others that help you start your own business require a start-up fee to cover the cost of training manuals and supplies to get you going, the so called “start up kit” . But before mailing a check or submitting a credit card payment after reading hype on a website, consider the following factors:
Never send money if you can’t talk to a person. No phone number on the website, but the person or company is promising you big money?
Do not reveal e-mail and online banking passwords or personal information. What do they want the information for ?
What’s A Processing Fee?
Testimonials Are Just Words Unless VerifiedGenuine Work from Home
I have personally earned money from home through proven methods like Google Adsense, Adgator and Traffic Synnegy. Scammers have also started targeting unaware people by selling “Google Adsense Starter Kits”.
With Google Adsense alone I have earned at least R50 000 for the mast year and a half and thats proof enough of genuine “work from home” which works.
In the end, only you can decide if an opportunity is right for you or not. Do your own due diligence. I wouldn’t be willing to pay any form of money in hopes of making money unless I could talk to someone about all of my questions and concerns. Remember that some people make thousands o selling cosmetics and they’re rewarded with Cars. Even though Avroy Shlain is a very legitimate company with an honorable money-making opportunity, that doesn’t mean it is for everyone. The same holds true for all ” work from home” opportunities. Only you can decide if it’ll work for you.
A Christian Dating Website was recently launched in Swaziland, the Website TPTower was launched by local web designers Aqua Designs. However Todays Times of Swaziland reports that :
There is now a battle over the concept of the Christian online dating website.
This comes after the founder of The Tower of Prayer Ministry, Kenneth Nkambule, distanced his ministry from the locally developed online Christian dating website because he believes it should have been shut down, but has suddenly reappeared.
Nkambule said the website’s domain name, www.tptower.org, and the whole concept, was his creation for The Tower of Prayer Ministry, a ministry which he says to date is still run by him.
“I approached Aqua Designs with the website design for my online Christian ministry for them to host the website (uploading the design to the internet) and this was in January last year,” said Nkambule. He said initially the website was to preach online as well as provide prayer to members of his church.
“It was then that I decided on the online dating concept which I attached onto the site, but later discarded that idea as the Holy Spirit was against it,” explained Nkambule. “My ministry then experienced financial constraints and, therefore, couldn’t pay my subscriptions to the website host which led to the site being suspended on the net,” he said.
That almost sums it up. I did a simple whois search of the domain and realised that the domain is actually registered in the name of the web designers which means legally they are the owners of the domain and are entitled to use the domain as they wish which is lesson number one for website owners.
Most website are shocked to learn that they don’t legally own their own domain names. After all, they paid to have the website created in the first place, plus pay ongoing fees for web hosting and domain registration. How can they not be the owner if they’re footing all the bills?
What commonly happens is that when your web design company created your website, they took care of registering the domain for you. While registering the domain however, they listed themselves, not you, as the Registrant (i.e. owner).
Why would they do that? Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I suppose it’s possible that they just don’t know better. A more cynical view, however, would be that they do it to keep you “hostage” to using their services forever (or at least make it difficult for you to switch).
Would you give a construction company the title to your land?
If all this talk about domains and contacts is still a little fuzzy, let’s compare it to a more familiar situation. Say you’re having a house built. Imagine that the builder said to you, “Hey, just sign your deed over to me so that I can take care of all those annoying details like applying for permits, etc. But don’t worry, I’ll let you live on the land after the house is built and use it just like you still legally owned it.” You’d think that was a ludicrous proposition of course, regardless of how well you knew and trusted the builder.
Well, the same goes for letting somebody else own your domain, regardless of how much you trust them.
The 10th annual Swazi Xtreme will be held 23-27 April 2010. Again the SX course will delight and challenge competitors with its focus on strategic elements.
Now celebrating its 10th consecutive year – the Swazi Xtreme is undeniably Africa’s largest annual Adventure Racing event. LARGE refers not only to our field of entrants…but also to our race philosophy….the Swazi Xtreme is all about “going big”!
Swazi Xtreme, SwazilandSwazi Xtreme participants are also NOT ordinary people. In the adventure racing community they are revered, whilst in everyday society, their exploits, courage and sheer bloody-mindedness sets them so far apart that they may as well be from another planet. For regular adventure racers the Swazi Xtreme is a “must-do”, and proud record in any team CV, whilst for a fair proportion of the field the Xtreme is the only event that they do each year, an annual challenge that keeps their spirit of adventure alive and their self-confidence totally armour-proof. In my recent festive holiday trip that took me to South Africa, Mozambique and Zimbabwe I drove at least 2500 km and I have to admit, long distance driving is not easy and as such the primary goal is to arrive safely, time is not an important factor. I have compiled the following tips which i found useful.
Avoid eating heavy foods while on the road, if possible do not eat heavy foods at all. In my 600 km journey from Swaziland , through South Africa to the Zimbabwean border i did not eat solids at all, only two pints of maheu (African Brewed Drink) and two cans of Red Bull.
Constant breaks after every at least two hours. You can drink lots of water and this would in turn force you to take those breaks to loosen and stretch.
If you feel sleepy STOP and rest at a safe place, if its during the night , at a 24 hour petrol station. Never pull off on the side of the road, you can be run over by trucks.
If possible travel with someone who is going to keep you company talking to you, NOT someone who is going to sleep at the front passenger seat.
Good evening to All Bloogers. I am back from a Southern Africa road trip which took me to South Africa, Lesotho and Zimbabwe. I spent most of my festive holidays in Harare, Zimbabwe which coincidentally is the city I grew up in before moving to Swaziland. I will be uploading the pictures of my trip soon. Complements of the new season and Welcome 2010
Swazi MTN has joined the BlackBerry Nation in conjunction with Research In Motion (RIM) , their South African Supplier. MTN will be offering two different BlackBerry services; BlackBerry® Enterprise Server targeted specifically at the enterprise market, available from MTN’s Corporate Sales Division for organisations with their own email server; and for smaller businesses and individuals, the BlackBerry® Internet Service which would be available from all MTN shops.
Customers can use the BlackBerry® solution anywhere in Swaziland as well as over 50 countries worldwide with which MTN has data roaming agreements. The majority of European and frequently visited business destinations are included to help ensure business customers can stay in touch even whilst abroad. Pay-As-You-Go customers can get the BlackBerry Curve 8320 for E4 799 and the BlackBerry Bold 9000 for E6 499.
I have been planning on acquiring either a Blackberry or an i Phone and judging from what I can see so far, I’m slightly being aligned to the Blackberry, mainly of because of Swazi MTN’s non-support of iPhone applications.
About Blackberry
A BlackBerry is a handheld device that is primarily designed for email communication, although it does have other functions. Created by Reasearch In Motion (RIM), the BlackBerry connects to wireless networks and allows users to email and browse the net. Recent models also have phone capabilities.

This is the primary reason d’etre of the BlackBerry. For email, you need to subscribe to data plans whose price can be unlimited or traffic-based.

The camera and video recording allows capturing and sending photos and other multimedia files to social contacts online through networks like Facebook; along and reading and posting messages.

A few months ago MTN Swaziland unveiled a service which allows prepaid subscribers to roam in South Africa. This, however requires one to have airtime and the airtime can only be loaded when you are in Swaziland or if a person in Swaziland can load it for you.
To activate the service when you are STILL in Swaziland send an SMS to 2525 with the word START. This would usually pick up the MTN SA network but if it does not, you can manually select the network. To deactivate the service , send a message to 2525 with the words STOP.It will cost a subscriber E6.25 per unit to make a call while in South Africa into the country and E2.50 for receiving calls while in South Africa
